In The Field Of Artificial Intelligence, Smart Speakers Are One Of The Fastest Growing Devices In The Consumer Market Today.
- Oct 22, 2018 -

Recently, according to foreign media reports, according to Business Insider Intelligence business insider intelligence analysis, in the field of artificial intelligence, smart speakers are one of the fastest growing devices in the consumer market.

Since Amazon launched the Echo smart speaker and Alexa voice assistant in 2014, the rapid hardware iteration of the market has driven the growth of smart speaker consumption.

Despite their growing popularity, the Business Insider Intelligence survey found that nearly half of the respondents still don't own a smart speaker.

Alexa can play music and turn on the lights. Then, she helps you make appointments, piece together the grocery list, and try on new clothes. Now, she can let you video chat with friends and family, maybe she will feel your feelings soon.

She is not alone. Since the launch of Echo in Amazon in 2014, smart speakers have become one of the fastest growing devices in the consumer technology market. Other tech giants have been iterating hardware to develop their flagship devices, most notably Google powered by Google Assistant. Home, Apple HomePod powered by Siri, and Galaxy Home powered by Samsung's Bixby.

These technology leaders are not just publishing devices, they are building the entire ecosystem supported by AI, pairing first-party hardware, software, and even third-party applications to advance other business interests. Since the ownership of smart home devices has a snowball effect, winning customers now means locking more business in the future.

Compared to the oversaturated smartphone and tablet market, smart speakers are used at a relatively low rate, so technology companies have plenty of time to buy their unique smart home devices.

Here are some of the key players how to take advantage of the smart speaker market:

Amazon: Echo's main goal is to provide consumers with new ways to buy goods to strengthen the company's position at the top of the e-commerce pyramid. Users can talk directly to Alexa and purchase products on Amazon, or add items to their shopping cart or list for later viewing.

Google: Google's home device is primarily used as a life assistant, prompting consumers to use Google's search service more frequently. This provides the company with more data to provide more targeted advertising to voice search users on other platforms.

Apple: iPhone makers are looking to build another source of revenue through their HomePod hardware sales, while countering Google and entering the smart speaker market. It focuses on the speaker elements of the device, emphasizing the device's ability to play music, but does not elaborate on its artificial intelligence.

Samsung: Although its Bixby-powered Galaxy Home is not yet available, Samsung's first foray into the smart speaker market indicates that it is challenging Apple HomePod and Google Home Max as the leading audio speakers.
